Beginning in 1992, Y York began writing and performing monodramas, primarily at Seattle's House of Dames, but also at Annex Theatre, public access TV and the Seattle Fringe Festival. Many of these stories served as seeds, inspiration and source material for later full-length plays. In 2020, during the pandemic, Snowflake Avalanche began sharing videos from these original performances and began recording new ones to share on social media.
